If I could define Becki in one way, it would be "Awwww (:"" She is one of the biggest sweethearts you'll ever meet and for such a small girl, she has one of the biggest personalities you'll come across. And the things she says are so jovial that when you're around her, you can't help but smile...or laugh at the some of the hilarious things that come out of her mouth. I met Becki in my senior year teaching class and I'll admit, my first impression of her was quite a bit different than the girl she ended up being. I only knew her in class as the sweetheart who never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and that was great, but something told me that she was more than "that girl in my class who is super nice." It was the second semester of the year when the class started putting on "professional development days" that I finally learned just how awesome this girl really is...and it was worth the wait.
When I saw her at the bar laughing and holding a giant glass of Blue Moon in her hand, a huge smile came across my face because for the first time, I felt like I saw the real Becki. I always thought that she was gorgeous with her blonde hair and brilliant smile, but this night was the first time that I looked into her eyes and God are they beautiful. I've seen pretty eyes before, but never in my life with all the faces I've looked at, have I seen eyes quite like Becki's...the kind of eyes you could just gaze into for hours. She already had me hooked at this point, but then she did something which took me over the top...she cheered when the Red Wings scored a goal. She didn't just go "Oh the Red Wings scored? Cool!" she actually cheered like a real fan, and there are few ways quicker to my heart than expressing love for my team. Becki didn't even have to say a word to me for me to know this was one hell of a woman, so when we finally did talk, all she did was reinforce my opinion.
Ever since that night, I've held Becki in the highest esteem. There are some people who you come across in life that are super nice, but you get the feeling that it's a facade, that they're just being nice because it's expected of them. I never once felt that way about Becki. She is one of the the most sincerely kindhearted people that I have ever met, and because of that, life is just better when she's around.
Cheers Madamoiselle Farquhar.
