Megan is a total sweetheart who I met when she was dating my cousin, but outside of that, I also had a class or two with her in college and we were both going into teaching, so we had several things in common. A gorgeous girl with one of the most disarming smiles you'll see, and if you haven't seen her in a while Megan is the kind of girl who will catch your eye from across the bar with that big smile on her face then meet you to say "Hi!" I know this because that happened twice in the period of a few months, and each time I saw her I couldn't help but be happy to be in her presence. I don't really know what it is, because while we've always been friendly she and I have never been all that close, but unlike some other people I run into when I'm home, I'm never disappointed running into her. Yes, I suppose part of it has to do with her being a beautiful person to look at, but more than that, she has a warmth and genuineness to her than a million of people probably wish they could imitate.
These days Megan is a teacher, and talking to her briefly about the school she's working at I can see a true love for the art of teaching, which is something that I do not see enough in this field. I can look into that girls eyes and when she tells me that she loves those kids she's working with, she wants to be the best teacher she can possibly be for them, I believe her. Not only do I believe her, but that's the kind of inspirational mindset that reaffirms why I decided to go into education. So here's to you Megan, a truly beautiful human being to the core.
